John Wilkin was born in Sydney, and graduated with Hons from the University of Technology, Sydney in 1997. He worked as an undergraduate architect for the firm Edwards Madigan Torzillo Briggs between 1989 and 1992. Since that time, he has worked with Angelo Candalepas in his capacity as, firstly, a recent graduate, in 2000 John became an Associate of Candalepas Associates, was appointed Senior Associate in 2003 and became a Practice Director in 2008.
John’s work includes the role of Project Architect/Director on the construction documentation of significant urban projects of the practice including Castlereagh Street Offices, Pindari and in procuring complex applications, such as the development of 450 dwellings at Little Bay and a Part 3a Concept Application for 806 dwellings south of Bateman’s Bay, in NSW.
He has experience in the delivery of complex construction documentation and design documentation of Projects at Candalepas Associates. He has completed work which has been published in his own right such as his own house which was recently published in Architecture Review - Residential 08 The Architects House. This house received a Commendation in the category of Small Project Architecture in the 2009 NSW Architecture Awards.
