Andrew McCloskey

Andrew McCloskey (Associate) was born in Sydney in 1947 and graduated from the Sydney Technical College in 1975, having worked as an undergraduate with the prestigious firms of Clarke Gazzard and Stafford Moor & Farrington. After graduating, he worked from 1975-79 at Chamberlin Powell and Bon on the Barbican Centre for Arts in London and later with Boissevain and Osmond (who were shortlisted in the Sydney Opera House Competition) also in London. On returning to Australia in 1979, he joined Edwards Madigan Torzillo Briggs International and worked on projects such as the Sydney Entertainment Centre and the Australian Taxation Offices in Sydney as well as the State Rail Authority portfolio. At that time, Andrew also worked on other significant public commissions such as the Australian Defence Academy and the Commonwealth Government Offices. Between 1992 and 2001 Andrew worked under his own firm's name and completed significant projects for Colgate Palmolive and other major clients.

In 2000 Andrew commenced work with Candalepas Associates. In 2002 he was appointed as an Associate, and has since been responsible for award-winning projects such as Pindari, the Messy House, the Kensington House and the recently completed Francis St apartments.
