Alex Dircks

Alex Dircks (Associate) was born in Manilla, NSW, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Newcastle in 2004. He joined Candalepas Associates in 2006, following one year’s experience as a junior architect in Newcastle.

Alex completed the Master of Architecture program at the University of Sydney in 2008-09, and graduated with Honours Class I, receiving the Ethel M Chettle Prize in Architecture and a commendation in the AIA Design Medal. His Honours thesis led to the publication of a paper at the XXVIIth Annual Conference of SAHANZ (The Society of Architectural Historians, Australia and New Zealand) in 2010.

During his time at Candalepas Associates Alex has worked on a diverse range of projects, including single houses, residential flat buildings, public buildings and urban masterplanning.
